Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Vachak handles information when you use the app. Vachak is a document reading and text-to-speech app that helps users listen to supported documents using device/system text-to-speech and optional downloaded local neural voices.

Information Vachak collects or processes
- Account information, such as email address, display name, profile photo, and authentication identifiers provided through Firebase Authentication and Google Sign-In.
- App data, such as reading progress, preferences, document metadata, and account/subscription status fields needed to provide the app experience.
- User documents selected by the user for reading. For v1, documents, OCR results, extracted document text, and generated reading state are processed and stored locally on the device and are not uploaded to Firebase Storage by Vachak.
- Optional local voice-pack data, such as downloaded voice model files and installation metadata, stored locally on the device when a user chooses to download an offline voice.
What Vachak does not currently use
Vachak does not currently use Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, advertising SDKs, or third-party ad tracking. Vachak v1 does not send document text to a cloud text-to-speech service. Coqui or another external TTS server is not included in v1.
How information is used
- To sign users in and maintain their account.
- To sync app preferences and reading progress.
- To provide document reading, OCR, and text-to-speech functionality.
- To download optional offline voice packs when requested by the user.
- To maintain app security, reliability, and support.
Third-party services
Vachak may use Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Google Sign-In, Google ML Kit text recognition, platform/system text-to-speech provided by the device operating system, and open-source local text-to-speech runtimes for optional offline voices. These services and libraries may process data according to their own policies.
Network and offline behavior
Vachak should not be described as fully offline. Login and Firebase-backed account features require network access. Optional offline voice packs require network access to download. Document processing, OCR text extraction, and local neural text-to-speech are intended to happen on the device, but account, sync, downloads, and support workflows may require an internet connection.
Data sharing
Vachak does not sell user data and does not share user documents with advertisers. Data may be processed by the third-party services listed above only as needed to provide the app. Downloading an optional voice pack may contact the server hosting that voice-pack file, but Vachak does not send the text of user documents as part of that download.
Account and data deletion
Users can delete their account in the app from Settings → Delete Account. Users can also request account/data deletion using the public account deletion page. Locally stored documents, extracted text, and downloaded voice packs can be removed by uninstalling Vachak or clearing app data on the device.

Children
Vachak is not intended for children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without appropriate consent, we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Vachak changes. The updated version will be posted on this page.
